A really touching night. I was really moved by the story of the street child we talked earlier. Life has been so unfair to him. We met this child this morning. He's been watching us playing badminton in the park. I was really surprise when he still recognize me while I'm having conversation with Reo in the park this evening. He said "you were the one who was been playing badminton this morning" while his passing us. I answered him and he finds a seat near to us. We have some conversation for almost an hour. He shared about his life. In the age of five, his life had turned into a misery. He's the only child in the family. His father who was a soldier died in a battle while his mother passed away due to high blood pressure. At that age, he doesn't know any relatives except for his uncle. His uncle adopted him, unfortunately, he's always been buttered. So he decided to leave his uncle and face this cruel world. He ended up living in the children's park. He's been living on his own. Finding ways to feed his little tummy. Sometimes a "ball boy" in the tennis court, and most of the time scavenger in snack area of the park. To him, his only happiness is to feed his starving tummy. He sleeps in one of the benches on the park. Sometimes when Barangay Tanods roams on the park, he sleeps in the street. You can really see in his eyes all his struggles. It is not easy to face this world at his age. Somehow, he managed to survive for years. He's now ten years old. He wants someone to adopt him. Realizations come into my mind. Life is really unfair. Sometimes, we don't give importance to things but for kids like them, it is such a great blessing. We sometimes waste foods that we don't like and just throw them. But for them, those food feeds their starving tummy. We're really fortunate that we have this kind of life. We still have our parents. They gave us things we want. Unlike them, they only rely on themselves. He's very kind on the way he talks unlike any other street child. I can't really explain it, but I was really touch on his story. I can't even say that it is a lie. I believe him. I want to help him even in a simple way. I hope I will meet that kid once again. May God always bless that boy!
